Currently, Precinct 2 is located at Valentine Hills Elementary School, 1770 County
Road E2 W.

Upon learning from the Mounds View School District that Valentine Hills Elementary would not be
available, Ramsey County Elections reached out and performed site visits with Mounds View High
School (also unavailable due to construction), Anderson Center/Bethel University (unavailable),
and North Heights Lutheran Church.

Due to availability, location, and ease of access North Heights Lutheran Church was selected. State
Statute 204B.16, Subd. 1, (2) allows for a designated polling place change when a previously
approved location becomes unavailable. In addition, this statute also allows polling place
designations to be within one mile of the precinct boundary.

Ramsey County Elections will prepare and distribute a notification mailing to all registered voters
residing in Precinct 2 at least 25 days before the primary election in August (pursuant to State
Statute 204B.16, Subd. 1a). A copy of said letter will be provided to the Council upon receipt.

Budget Impact
N/A

Attachments
A: Resolution 2019-021
