---ARPEN <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2019-022 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE AMENDMENT TO THE <br /> RICE CREEK NORTH REGIONAL TRAIL MASTER PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey County established the Rice Creek North Regional Trail Master <br /> Plan in 1998 and completed an amendment to the master plan in 2003, and 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS,Ramsey County has submitted an amendment, attached as Exhibit A,to <br /> update the master plan for the Rice Creek North Regional Trail corridor; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2019 master plan amendment incorporates long-term site and <br /> infrastructure improvements, recreation improvements, and additional recreational opportunities <br /> throughout the regional trail corridor including but not limited to a new trailhead regional <br /> trailhead and outdoor recreation area south of County Road I; access drive and bituminous trail <br /> connections from County Road 1; cross country ski trails, mountain bike trails; improve existing <br /> and expand natural surface grass trails; habitat restoration; improved connections to Rice Creek; <br /> improve existing and expand bituminous multi-use trails; improvements to existing trail heads <br /> focused on increased parking, restrooms, drinking fountains, improved wayfinding signage, and <br /> improved canoe/kayak launches; and additional vehicular and pedestrian access points; and <br /> enhanced road crossings and at intersections; and additional nature based recreation programing; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Arden Hills staff have reviewed the plan and supports the <br /> amendment of the Rice Creek North Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden <br /> Hills, Minnesota that the City of Arden Hills supports the amendment of the Rice Creek North <br /> Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment. <br /> ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of en Hills t is 24th Day of June,2019. <br /> David Grant, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Qaul <br /> axdo\ <br /> Juli OH <br /> anson, City Clerk <br />
