DATE: July 22, 2019 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Appoint Associate Planner <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A $33,130 (Aug-Dec) Salary Split <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />The Council should consider appointing Joseph Hartmann as the Associate Planner at Grade 11 <br />Step 1 on the compensation scale with all other normal City provided benefits. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council authorized staff to post for an Associate Planner at their May 22, 2019 City <br />Council meeting. City Staff posted for the position and received 29 applications, and brought 6 <br />candidates forward for interviews. Following a second round, Staff identified Joseph Hartmann <br />as the best candidate for the position. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br /> <br />While the position was not budgeted in 2019, the addition will not negatively impact the budget <br />as the Community Development Director position will continue to remain vacant.
