County Road E, and E2
Local Agency. I Arden Hills Local Project No.
Contractor Sunram Contracting Contract. No.
Add resslCitylState/Zip 20010 751' Ave north, Corcoran, MN 55340
Total Change Order Amount $124,570.73
During the construction of wall 3 there were some helical piles that went deeper than the
estimated 25' that the "EACH" price was based on in Change order number 1. Therefore, to
attain the necessary bearing on the piles the engineer directed the Contractor to add additional
length to the piles and continue to drill until the achieve bearing. The contractor agreed to this
extra work to add the piling length but asked to be compensated per Lineal foot added to the
piles. The Engineer also directed the Contractor to add reinforcing to transfer the load between
the piles within the concrete footing that supports wall 3.
During construction, the in-place soils encountered outside of retaining wall 1 along the pond was
found to be unsuitable to construct the retaining wall block on. Therefore, the engineer directed
the Contractor to build a Reinforced Soil Slope (RSS) in place of retaining wall number 1. The
Contractor agreed to this extra work to build the RSS wall in place of the retaining wall but asked
to be compensated for the work.
During the Construction of the project it was determined that extra signage was needed on the
detour to direct Traffic around the project road closure. This included adding 27 "Old Snelling
Ave" signs to all the detour route markers and some additional barricades and signage including
"Bethel University signage" and two portable message boards, The Engineer directed the
contractor to add the signs, the contractor agreed to this work but asked to be compensated for
adding the additional signs. The price below is to install the signs that includes all material and
labor to install the 2.5 SF signs and for the extra signage used on the project.
Construction of retaining wall 1 and the removal of the storm sewer in the area caused the
existing storm pipes to be taken off line while the work was completed. During this time, the
Contractor staged a 6" pump onsite in case of rain events to pump water out of the pond located
south of the Railroad tracks to prevent flooding of private property. The pump was then used to
lower water in the pond to construct the reinforced soil slope along wall one. The Engineer
agreed to this extra work to rent the pump by the month and pay for the operation costs to set up
and fuel the pump while it was being used
Page 1 of 2
