City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy <br />Effective February 29, 2016 <br />Amended December 19, October 28 2019 <br />EXEMPT EMPLOYEE FLEX -TIME GUIDELINES <br />Exempt employees may accrue flex -time on a 1:1 ratio for attending various meetings <br />outside of their normal work day. Exempt employees may use accrued flex -time as <br />approved by their supervisor, but no more than 9 consecutive hours of flex time may be <br />used at one time. Exempt employees shall be compensated for no more than eighty (80) <br />hours of accrued flex -time upon termination. This benefit shall be paid into the employee's <br />Post -Retirement Health Care Savings Plan. <br />MEDICAL CERTIFICATION <br />Good attendance is an essential job function for all City employees. If unplanned <br />absences are excessive, a doctor's certification may be required. The physician's <br />certification is to state the nature and duration of the illness or injury and verify that the <br />employee is unable to perform the duties and responsibilities of his/her position. A <br />statement attesting to the employee's ability to return to work and perform the essential <br />functions of the job and a description of any work restrictions may also be required <br />before the employee returns to work. <br />Annual leave will not accrue during unpaid leaves. Benefit earning employees will accrue <br />annual leave on a prorated basis based on regular hours worked. <br />Annual leave will accrue on a pay -period basis. Employees can carry over any annual <br />leave that does not exceed the stated cap. <br />
