AGENDA ITEMS <br /> A. MnDOT Study—Snelling Avenue/Highway 51 <br /> Interim Public Works Director/City Engineer Blomstrom stated City staff has received <br /> multiple inquiries from residents regarding the closure of the center median access from <br /> southbound Highway 51 to Hamline Avenue in Arden Hills. MnDOT temporarily closed this <br /> access as part of the I-35W project and has indicated its intent to consider making the closure <br /> permanent. City staff has requested that Mark Lindeberg describe the future study process to <br /> determine if the temporary access closure at Hamline Avenue should become a permanent closure <br /> or be restored following completion of the 1-35W project. Staff also requested that Mr. Lindeberg <br /> describe the public engagement process that will occur during the MnDOT study to allow for <br /> resident participation and input. <br /> Mark Lindeberg, North Area Engineer with MnDOT, commented on the plans MnDOT had to <br /> study access along Highway 51. He reviewed the project background noting work began in late <br /> 2014 with work beginning on the TMP (Traffic Management Plan) in 2017. He discussed the <br /> impacts on the local traffic patterns that were being considered. He reviewed the crash data for <br />
