<br />City o f Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for January 13, 2020 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 3 <br /> <br />Public Hearing and Comments <br /> <br />Under Section 1355.06 Subd. 4, provides the Zoning Administrator the ability to waive a public <br />hearing if the proposed amendments are deemed to be insignificant. The proposed amendments <br />to the existing permit are minor. The conditions requested to be removed by the Applicant are <br />either permitted by right or regulated by existing ordinances. Upon review staff felt that it would <br />be in the best interest of the City to hold a public hearing at the Planning Commission meeting to <br />gauge public concern. A Planning Commission public hearing notice was printed in the Pioneer <br />Press on December 27, 2019. Staff has not received any comments concerning this planning case. <br />In addition, no citizens attended the January 8, 2020 Planning Commission meeting. Staff has <br />made the determination to utilize the above code section to waive the public hearing at City <br />Council. However, it is important to note that in the event citizens did attend the January 8, 2020 <br />Planning Commission meeting, staff would have required this items to hold a public hearing prior <br />to approval at City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Deadline for Agency Actions <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills received the completed application for this request on December 19, 2019. <br />Pursuant to Minnesota State Statute, the City must act on this request by February 17, 2020 (60 <br />days), unless the City provides the petitioner with written reasons for an additional 60-day review <br />period.
