Existing 1230.01, Subd. 2 <br />“Non-commercial Signs in an ElectionYear.Signs of any size containing non-commercial speech may be postedfromAugust1inanygeneralorCityelectionyearuntilten(10)daysfollowingthegeneralelectionandthirteen(13)weeks prior to any specialelectionuntilten(10)days followingthespecialelectionprovidedthatthesignsareincompliancewithMinnesotaStatutes.These non-commercial signs shall be placed inaccordancewithSection1250.03 Subd.2,3,and 4.” <br />August 1 start date for posting non-commercial <br />signs is inconsistent with MN State Statute 211B.45: <br />“All noncommercial signs of any size may be posted <br />in any number beginning 46 days before the state <br />primary in a state general election year until ten <br />days following the state general election.
