EVEN_ HILLS <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0010 <br /> Resolution Establishing a School Zone Speed Limit on Lake Valentine Road <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills and Mounds View School District 621 conducted an <br /> engineering investigation and hazard evaluation for Lake Valentine Road pursuant to Minnesota <br /> Statutes 169.14 Subdivision 5a; and <br /> WHEREAS, the engineering investigation identifies approximately 310 pedestrians in the <br /> morning peak hour and approximately 270 pedestrians in the afternoon peak hour crossing Lake <br /> Valentine Road within the school site; and <br /> WHEREAS, the engineering investigation recommends that the posted speed limit be <br /> reduced from 35 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour during school peak hours when children are <br /> present at Mounds View High School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View School District staff has reviewed the engineering <br /> investigation and supports the recommended school zone speed limit. <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The Arden Hills City Council authorizes the City <br /> Engineer to establish and place signage creating a school zone speed limit of 25 miles per hour on <br /> Lake Valentine Road from 110 feet west of Janet Court to 230 feet west of the west entrance to the <br /> school site in accordance with the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices effective <br /> during a one hour period spanning the school start time and a one hour period spanning the school <br /> release time for Mounds View High School. <br /> Adopted this l Ot" day of February 2020. <br /> David Grant, Mayor <br /> AT ST• <br /> L- <br /> JuliHanson, City Clerk <br />
