<br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for February 24, 2020 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />CONSENT ITEM – 7E <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: February 24, 2020 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Joe Hartmann, Associate Planner <br /> Mike Mrosla, Community Development Manager/City Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Planning Case #19-018 <br /> Applicant: Lorne Rothbuaer of Boston Scientific <br /> Property Location: 4100 Hamline Avenue <br /> Request: Planned Unit Development Amendment and Site Plan Review <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br /> <br />Council Should Consider the Following <br /> <br />Motion to approve Planning Case 19-018 for an Amended Planned Unit Development and Site <br />Plan Review for Boston Scientific Corporation, based on the findings of fact and the submitted <br />plans in the February 5, 2020 Report to the Planning Commission <br /> <br />Background/Summary <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting to construct a 700 square foot addition to the south side of Building 10 <br />adjacent to Innovation Way. The proposed addition consists of two (2) dock doors and a new curb <br />cut access onto Innovation Way. Boston Scientific is regulated under a PUD that permits the <br />Subject Property to operate medical manufacturing provided those uses maintain harmony and <br />compatibility with surrounding uses and are in keeping with the architectural character and design <br />standards of existing uses and development. The underlying Zoning District that guides the uses <br />allowed within the parcel is the I-1 Limited Industrial District. <br /> <br />Plan Evaluation <br /> <br />A full evaluation of the proposal was presented to the Planning Commission on February 5th, 2020. <br />The staff report to the Planning Commission on this case is provided in Attachment E. Draft <br />minutes from the February 5th, 2020 meeting are included in Attachment F. <br />
