AGENDA ITEM-111 <br /> ----A E HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: April 13, 2020 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Sara Knoll, Recreation Coordinator <br /> Todd Blomstrom, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: Recreation Programs - COVID-19 <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Sources: <br /> $123143 0 (2020 Budget) TBD General Fund- Recreation <br /> Council Should Consider the Following Actions <br /> City Council direction is requested regarding postponement or cancellation of the City's late spring <br /> and summer recreation programs. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The City of Arden Hills offers several recreational programs throughout the year on the following <br /> schedule. <br /> ■ Spring programs, including tennis, golf, basketball, baseball, track and flag football, begin <br /> in mid-April and continue through early June. <br /> ■ Summer programs, including T-ball, baseball, soccer, and playground programs, and <br /> various camps, generally begin in early June and extend through the middle of August. <br /> ■ Fall programs, such as soccer and flag football, generally begin in August and continue <br /> through early November. Before and after school programs, dance, yoga, and tai chi <br /> generally begin in middle September and conclude in December. <br /> Many spring programs have been canceled or postponed due to COVID-19. Before and After School <br /> classes are cancelled for the remainder of the school year. Staff is maintaining communications with <br /> surrounding cities, which have also canceled or postponed similar spring programs. A list of <br /> programs impacted by these cancellations and postponements is provided below. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
