AGENDA ITEM – 1D

MEMORANDUM

DATE: May 18, 2020

TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers

FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator

SUBJECT: COVID-19 Operations and Summer Hours Discussion

Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source:
N/A N/A N/A

For Council Consideration

Council should consider providing direction to staff for on-going operations relating to COVID-
19 and also discuss if Summer Hours will go into effect after Memorial Day.

Background

Staff will discuss any updated guidance from the Governor’s Office and how it affects City Hall
operations. Through May 18th, staff has been working mostly remote, but with limited staff
rotating in and out of City Hall as needed, and City Hall continues to be closed to the public.
Council, and other, meetings are continuing electronically. Staff is continuing to follow CDC
and other guidance relating to social distancing, PPE, etc. It was also requested an in-depth
review of Public Works be provided (see Attachment A) and their efforts during this time.

It is assumed that any major changes to current operations will not go into effect until at least
May 20th, this would allow staff to receive sufficient direction following the work session.

Council may want to provide direction on Summer Hours for staff; it would be beneficial for
both staff and the public to be aware of operational hours during the summer season.

Budget Impact

N/A

Attachment

Attachment A: Public Works Operations Update
