City of Arden Hills Chapter 12 Sign Code <br />D. Freestanding signs shall be located at least five (5) feet from <br />any property line and shall not project over the property line. <br />However, if the bottom edge of the sign copy is not located at <br />least ten (10) feet above the ground with supports that do not <br />encroach on the clear vision area of approaching traffic, the <br />sign shall be located to preserve the clear vision area. <br />E. The total area of a freestanding sign shall not exceed 1.5 <br />times the permitted sign copy area of a freestanding sign. The <br />total sign area includes all sign copy, graphics, decorative <br />features, borders, and structural supports except for the <br />poles. <br />Subd. 3 Service Area Canopy. Each edge of a service area canopy <br />facing a street is permitted twenty-five (25) square feet of sign area in <br />addition to all other sign area permitted on the site. Such signage may <br />be illuminated externally, internally, or backlit, but no other part of the <br />face of the canopy shall be illuminated. <br />Subd. 4 Awnings and Canopies. No part of an awning or sun <br />canopy shall be less than eight (8) feet or greater than twelve (12) feet <br />above grade. Any sign area on the awning, if illuminated, will be <br />12-27 <br />Adopted: March 10, 2008 <br />
