History of Temporary Closure <br />Anticipating that motorists unable to turn left on Hamline <br />Ave. would turn left at Lydia, MnDOT made improvements to <br />ease congestion at Lydia Ave. <br />7/14/2020 mndot.gov 6 <br />•Traffic signals now give more time to left <br />turns from southbound Snelling onto <br />eastbound Lydia and from eastbound Lydia <br />turning north on Snelling. If no northbound <br />vehicles are present, the signals are <br />coordinated to assign extra time to turning <br />movements at Lydia. <br />•MnDOT uses cameras to monitor traffic <br />backups and will continue to modify traffic <br />signal timing as needed to reduce delays.
