CONSENT ITEM— 6F <br /> ,-iIZEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 10, 2020 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> FROM: David Swearingen, Assistant City Engineer, Engineer in Training <br /> Todd Blomstrom, Public Works Director/ City Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: Hamline Avenue Crosswalks -Ramsey County Cooperative Agreement <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $142,000 $125,525 PIR Fund and Ramsey County <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> Approval of a Cooperative and Maintenance Agreement with Ramsey County for Pedestrian <br /> Modification Work on Hamline Avenue (CSAH 50). <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The City of Arden Hills and Ramsey County have developed construction plans for proposed <br /> pedestrian crosswalk improvements located along Hamline Avenue south of Highway 96, at the <br /> intersection of Wyncrest Court and a midblock crosswalk between Indian Oaks Circle and Eide <br /> Circle. The final plans include raised center medians, improvement curb ramps and a proposed <br /> Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) located at the midblock crossing between Indian <br /> Oaks Circle and Eide Circle. <br /> The Cooperative Agreement for the project is provided in Attachment A. The proposed agreement <br /> outlines the City's funding responsibility as well as maintenance responsibilities. The City will be <br /> responsible for $50,762.50 of the construction costs, which is one half of the total construction cost <br /> of the proposed Hamline Avenue pedestrian crosswalks improvements ($101,525.00). The project <br /> cost estimate is provided in Attachment B. Staff is recommending approval of the Cooperative <br /> Agreement. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
