Page 1 of 1 <br />CONSENT ITEM – 2A <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: November 12, 2020 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Resolution 2020-059 Certifying the 2020 Municipal Election Canvass Results <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$ $ $ <br />Council Should Consider <br />Approving resolution 2020-059 certifying the 2020 municipal election canvass results. <br />Background/Discussion <br />Generally, members of the City Council are required by State Statute to certify the results of the <br />Municipal Election to the Ramsey County Auditor within three (3) to ten (10) days after the <br />general election. This year, however, due to the consent decree that extended the deadline <br />regarding mail ballots received through the mail up to seven (7) days following Election Day, <br />canvassing the results must occur no later than Friday, November 13. <br />Attached is a copy of Resolution 2020-059 certifying the results of the November 3, 2020 <br />election. <br />Please note that the abstract certifying the 2020 municipal election results will be provided as a <br />bench handout on Thursday, November 12, 2020. <br />The following are results from the 2020 election: <br />•Brenda Holden as Arden Hills City Councilmember for a four-year term beginning in <br />January 2021; and. <br />•Dave McClung as Arden Hills City Councilmember for a four-year term beginning in <br />January 2021. <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Resolution 2020-059
