CONSENT ITEM – 6L <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: December 14, 2020 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Todd Blomstrom, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Resolution 2020-064 Authorizing a Grant Agreement for Lexington Avenue <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $500,000 $500,000 State Bond Grant Funds <br /> <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />The City Council is requested to consider approval of Resolution 2020-064 authorizing the City of <br />Arden Hills to apply for a grant from the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority and to enter into a <br />Grant Agreement for the City of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (PFA) recently provided notice that the City received a <br />State Bonding Bill appropriation in the amount of $500,000 for water main improvements along <br />Lexington Avenue. Staff is preparing the required application documents necessary to receive the <br />grant funds through PFA, as provided in Attachment A. A resolution is required to be submitted <br />along with the application materials stating that the City has the legal authority to apply for the grant, <br />and capacity to ensure proper delivery of the project, and authorization to execute the grant <br />agreement. Resolution 2020-064 is provided in Attachment B for Council consideration and <br />approval. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br />The grant will cover up to $500,000 of the cost to install a water main extending along Lexington <br />Avenue from Red Fox Road to Grey Fox Road. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: 2020 Special Appropriation Funds Application Packet <br />Attachment B: Resolution 2020-064
