DATE: August 24, 2020 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approve Communications Coordinator Updated Job Description and Authorize <br />Staff to Post for the Vacant Position <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Estimated Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Council should consider approving the updated Communications Coordinator Job Description <br />and authorize staff to begin the recruitment process for the vacant position. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The current Communications Coordinator submitted their resignation with a final day of <br />September 4, 2020. The Personnel Committee has reviewed the position and suggested the <br />attached changes to the job description (see Attachment A). This authorization will approve the <br />updated job description and allow staff to being the recruitment process to fill the <br />Communications Coordinator role. <br /> <br />Anticipated process: <br />-Council approves authorization to begin the recruitment process <br />-Staff posts for the position and reviews candidates <br />-Staff reviews applications, interviews candidates, and selects finalists <br />-Staff will add their recommendation to the consent calendar at a future meeting <br /> <br />This position will not be brought forward to the Personnel Committee or City Council for future <br />consideration except for final approval at a City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br /> <br />This will not adversely affect the 2020 budget as no additional positions are being added. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Attachment A: Updated Communications Coordinator Job Description <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6F <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
