In addition, the Council shall consider providing staff direction on acquiring <br />additional GreenStep Cities participation signage. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />At a recent meeting the City Council discussed asking the Arden Hills Foundation for financial <br />contribution to assist in acquiring additional parks benches and GreenStep Cities participation <br />signage. Previously the Arden Hills Foundation provided funding to the City to acquire <br />neighborhood watch signs. <br /> <br />Park Benches Discussion <br /> <br />Staff has identified four (4) potential locations for new benches (Attachment A) if there is a desire <br />to install additional benches along City trails and within park property. Staff is seeking Council <br />direction on the proposed locations. Park benches cost approximately $700 each. <br /> <br />GreenStep Cities Participation Signage Discussion <br /> <br />During the same meeting the Council asked if the Foundation could potentially contribute in <br />acquiring additional GreenStep Cities participation signage. Minnesota GreenStep Cities is a <br />voluntary challenge, assistance and recognition program to help cities achieve their sustainability <br />and quality-of-life goals. The City of Arden Hills is currently recognized as a Step Two (2)
