The project cost is estimated to be $12.5 million. The project
was previously planned for construction in 2021, but was delayed to the year 2022 due to
funding challenges at the County.

Ramsey County Public Works is requesting the City’s support with an application to Local Road
Improvement Program (LRIP) grant program to potentially assist with funding the project. The
Minnesota Department of Transportation has recently made $75 million of LRIP grant funds
available statewide for 2021, 2022 and 2023 projects, with a cap of $1.25 million per project for
Routes of Regional Significance. The County has requested that the cities of Arden Hills and
Shoreview provide a Council resolution to support the grant application. A recommended
resolution is provided in Attachment A.

CONSENT ITEM – 6F
MEMORANDUM
