Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6K <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: February 8, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Proposal from Bolton and Menk for On-Call City Engineer Services and <br />designating Bolton and Menk as the Engineer of Record <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $N/A $N/A General and Utility Funds <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• A proposal with Bolton and Menk for on-call engineering services for the City and <br />designating Bolton and Menk as the Engineer of Record for the City. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City has a vacancy for its Public Works Director/City Engineer following the resignation of <br />its previous director. Under a separate item, the City Council is asked to consider appointing <br />David Swearingen to the position of Interim Public Works Director. Mr. Swearingen does not <br />have the necessary license to be the Engineer of Record for the City, so the City will need to <br />utilize a consultant for this function. <br /> <br />Bolton and Menk provided the City with a proposal for services (see Attachment A). The rates <br />provided by Bolton and Menk are competitive with rates the City has previously received for <br />engineering services. Bolton and Menk will provide services at the discretion of the City <br />Administrator and Interim Public Works Director on an as-needed basis. <br /> <br />
