If the <br />replacement tree plantings cannot be reasonably accommodated on the site, the City can work <br />with the applicant to find off-site locations for the plantings or require that a fee in lieu of the <br />plantings be provided. The fee in lieu amount shall be the cost of materials and installation tree, <br />plus ten (10) percent. As a condition of approval, prior to the issuance of a grading and erosion <br />control permit the Applicant shall work with the City to locate the additional caliper inches of <br />replacement trees on the site or on the adjacent properties. If the replacement tree plantings <br />cannot be reasonably accommodated on the site, the City can work with the applicant to find off- <br />site locations for the plantings or require that a fee in lieu of the plantings be provided. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The Applicant previously requested flexibility to pay $20,000 fee in lieu of replacement. <br />According to the report submitted by Applicant (Attachment F) the replacement required is 444 <br />caliper inches or $50,958.60. Itβs worth noting that this total was arrived at by not counting Ash <br />trees as replaceable trees and replacing removed trees with the same tree species. Council shall <br />provide direction on if they want to allow the Applicant flexibly or require the Applicant submit <br />the total replacement. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Council shall consider <br /> <br />The following is motion language options for the City Council to consider. Planned Unit <br />Development approvals require a supermajority (four affirmative votes).
