Agenda Item 4-A <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: March 16, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee <br /> <br />FROM: Joe Vaughan, Recreation Programmer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Spring/Summer Recreation Programs <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />At the February 16 City Council Work Session, staff was directed to move forward with specific <br />youth and adult recreation programs. Council directed staff to move forward with the playground <br />program, youth sports leagues, youth camps, and adult programs. Some notable programs <br />Council did not approve were the Spring Egg Hunt and AARP Driver Safety Classes. Staff has <br />been working to develop a spring/summer recreation guide and to finish planning all of the <br />programs for the upcoming spring and summer seasons of 2021. All programs must adhere to the <br />safety guidelines set forth by the Minnesota Department of Health. <br /> <br />Staff has received numerous phone calls and emails from residents asking if programs will come <br />back this summer and have requested specific programs. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Attachment A – Spring/Summer Recreation Guide DRAFT
