Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM – 1B <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: March 15, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Boston Scientific JCF Resolution and Neighborhood Concerns <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />For Council Consideration <br /> <br />Council may discuss and provide further direction on the Boston Scientific Job Creation Fund <br />Resolution and neighborhood concerns regarding the upcoming project. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council voted to table a resolution in support of Boston Scientific’s Job Creation Fund <br />Application at its March 8, 2021 meeting. The Council requested an opportunity to discuss the <br />resolution at a future work session. The original memo and resolution are attached (see <br />Attachment A). It is important to note that the approval of this resolution does not obligate the <br />City financially or otherwise to the JCF application, and is not connected to the Planning Case <br />(i.e. any Planning Case decisions are separate from this approval). <br /> <br />The City Council also requested an opportunity to speak with Boston Scientific on a letter from <br />nearby neighbors who expressed concerns about the upcoming project, as well as, existing <br />concerns (see Attachment B). <br /> <br />Representatives from Boston Scientific will be present to discuss both the JCF application and to <br />address concerns raised in the neighborhood letter. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br /> <br />N/A <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Attachment A: Memo from March 8, 2021 Council Meeting <br />Attachment B: Neighborhood Concerns Regarding Boston Scientific
