Page 1 <br /> <br />DATE: April 29, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Appointment of Jessica Jagoe to the Senior Planner Position <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Appointment of Jessica Jagoe to the position of Senior Planner at Grade 13 Step 9 on the <br />City’s pay scale, at Year Zero on the PTO scale with a forty hour credit of PTO, all other <br />normal benefits apply. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> Discussion <br /> Jessica Jagoe is the selected candidate for the Senior Planner position with the City. Her current <br />employer is Chisago County where she works as the Land Services Coordinator overseeing Code <br />Enforcement, Wetlands/Water Resources, Zoning, and Lake Improvement functions. She has been <br />with Chisago County since May 2019, and was with the City of Little Canada prior for approximately <br />seventeen years. At Little Canada, she held multiple positions including Utility Billing Clerk, Zoning <br />Technician/Code Enforcement Officer, and most recently, Associate Planner handling planning <br />duties to include, but not limited to, land use applications, variances, Conditional Use Permits, <br />Planned Unit Developments, etc. She also has a Bachelors Degree in Urban and Regional Studies <br />from Minnesota State University at Mankato State. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br /> This position is a higher grade than the budgeted Associate Planner, however, it is unlikely the <br />budget will be negatively impacted as the City currently has two vacant planning positions; some <br />of those savings will be offset due to consultant costs. <br /> <br />Attachment <br /> N/A <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 2A <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
