To mitigate these issues Public Works staff has posted the state
fair parking restrictions along routes shown in Attachment A. In preparation for the 2021 State
Fair, a discussion is needed to decide if there are any changes needed to the current plan.

One of the primary areas for people to park is within the Hazelnut neighborhood. This year the
City’s 2021 PMP project will be in full effect and parking must be restricted completely as to not
interfere with construction activities. It is recommended that large signs are posted at all
construction entrances specifically calling out “No State Fair Parking”. The project’s inspection
staff has been informed that this will be an issue and they will be monitoring the construction site
since they will be present every day. The project corridor will be fully demoed around the time
of the State Fair but no parking signs can still be installed throughout as long as they are clear of
construction activities.
