ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION – May 5, 2021 16 <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Consultant Kansier reported staff received a letter from Mr. Larson objecting to the <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Chair Vijums summarized the comments made by the Commission thus far and recommended <br />Shoreland Regulation #5 be removed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Weber questioned if this would be the last time the Commission sees this <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Chair Vijums reported this would be the last time the Commission sees this Ordinance. <br /> <br />Commissioner Weber commented he would like to see this Ordinance again if the Council makes <br />large changes to it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes stated the Ordinance would go back to the Commission if there were <br />major changes made by the City Council. <br /> <br />Chair Vijums moved and Commissioner Jeffreys seconded a motion to recommend approval <br />of Planning Case 21-008 for a Zoning Code Amendment to Chapter 13 of the Arden Hills <br />City Code to permit accessory storage sheds of up to 100 square feet in size and 8 feet in <br />height within the required structure setback from the ordinary high water level as presented <br />in the May 5, 2021, report to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Chair Vijums moved and Commissioner Jeffreys seconded a motion to amend the Shoreland <br />Regulations Amendment removing Amendment #5. A roll call vote was taken. The <br />amendment carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken. The amended motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Report from the City Council <br /> <br />Planning Consultant Kansier reported the City has hired a new City Planner and noted this new <br />planner would be attending the June Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Chair Vijums thanked Planning Consultant Kansier and Planning Consultant Bemus for all of their <br />assistance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes provided the Commission with an update from the City Council. She <br />thanked the Planning Commission for all of their efforts on behalf of the community. <br /> <br />B. Planning Commission Comments and Requests <br /> <br />None.
