Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6B <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: June 28, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Jessica Jagoe, Senior Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Flexibility for Local Businesses <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $ $ <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Move to approve Resolution 2021-031to allow extension of flexibility to local <br />businesses during local emergency for COVID-19. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />At the June 7, 2021, Special Work Session meeting, the Council discussed extending the <br />flexibility to businesses to allow them to expand outdoor operations (seating, serving of alcohol, <br />etc.) during COVID-19. This flexibility was granted last year and was noted in the resolution <br />would end when businesses can resume normal operations. We only received three requests last <br />year for this. The City Council direction provided at the special work session was to extend this <br />flexibility to allow for businesses to expand outdoor operations until January 1, 2022. If <br />approved, Staff will send out information to businesses in the City notifying them up of the <br />update. <br /> <br />Planning staff has included with this report the staff memo from May 26, 2020, as additional <br />background on this matter. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br />N/A <br /> <br />
