Doc Exhibit I - Page 1 of 3 June 2021 <br /> EXHIBIT I <br /> <br /> CONSULTANT’S SERVICES <br /> <br /> 2022 SNELLING AVE NORTH STREET & UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MN and BOLTON & MENK, INC. <br /> <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT agrees to provide civil engineering services required for the construction of city <br />funded, street, utility and related improvements in conjunction with Snelling Avenue N Street & Utility <br />Improvement Project. Scope of work shall be in general accordance with the Proposal dated June 4, 2021. <br /> <br />The basic improvements as part of this Agreement are outlined in the Bolton & Menk proposal, including: <br />street resurfacing, pedestrian improvements/considerations, watermain replacement, sanitary sewer <br />replacement, and drainage improvements. <br /> <br />I.A. BASIC SERVICES <br /> <br />For purposes of this Project, Basic Services to be provided by the CONSULTANT are as follows: <br /> <br />1. Upon notice to proceed, the CONSULTANT shall meet with the Arden Hills City Engineer for a <br />project kick-off meeting. <br /> <br />2 The CONSULTANT shall review and rely upon the Preliminary Report prepared by the CLIENT <br />and other documents listed in the RFP prepared for CLIENT by other consultants. <br /> <br />3. The CONSULTANT shall conduct a field survey for Cummings Lane to obtain information for <br />detailed design and construction documents. <br /> <br />4. The CONSULTANT shall prepare plans and specifications and submit copies to the CLIENT for <br />review and comment. <br /> <br />5. Construction plans and documents will be prepared in general conformance with applicable State <br />Aid standards to the extent permitted by site topography and grades. The plans shall be prepared <br />using English standards. <br /> <br />6. The CONSULTANT shall complete the storm sewer design within and serving the project area. <br />Such design shall be in accordance with City direction and of sufficient detail for submittal to Rice <br />Creek Watershed District (RCWD), as required. <br /> <br />7. The CONSULTANT shall assist the CLIENT in the preparation of permit applications for MnDOT, <br />MPCA (storm water/erosion control and sanitary sewer construction) and Minnesota Department of <br />Health (watermain), and RCWD, if required and identified in the proposal. <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT'S responsibility on the permit application shall be to provide information <br />relative to the project including copies of plans, specifications and computations. The CLIENT shall <br />assume responsibilities for submittals of permit applications, necessary bonds, permit application <br />fees, negotiation for access or rights-of-way, and non-engineering work associated with such <br />permits.
