Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 7D <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 9, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Premise Permit Application for Spring Lake Park Lions for Charitable Gambling at <br />Welch’s Big Ten Tavern <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $ $ <br /> Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Resolution 2021-043 approving a premise permit for Spring Lake Park Lions to conduct <br />charitable gambling at Welsch’s Big Ten Tavern located at 4703 N Highway 10, Arden <br />Hills for a period expiring June 30, 2022. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Spring Lake Park Lions (Applicant) have submitted an application to conduct charitable <br />gambling Welch’s Big Ten Tavern. <br /> <br />Note the Applicant previously held a permit to conduct gambling at this location and so is aware of <br />the requirements which include providing financial reports to the City. The necessary premise permit <br />fee has been paid, all paperwork has been provided (see attachments) and a satisfactory background <br />check has been conducted by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department. City Code requires charitable <br />gambling licenses to be approved by the City Council and renewed every two years.
