AGENDA ITEM – 1A <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: September 20, 2021 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br />FROM: David Swearingen, PE Interim Public Works Director <br />Brad Fisher, Bolton & Menk – PE Project Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Snelling Avenue North Improvements – Design Discussion <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $1,250,000 N/A PIR, Utility Funds, <br /> Special Assessments, Future MSA <br />Council Should Consider <br />Council should consider the preliminarily developed improvement alternatives for Snelling Ave <br />N including two with non-motorized facilities. <br />Background/ Discussion <br />On April 26, 2021 City Council adopted Resolution 2021-025 ordering the improvements and <br />preparations of plans and specifications for the Snelling Avenue North Improvements Project. <br />On June 28, 2021 City Council approved the professional services agreement with Bolton & <br />Menk for the engineering design and construction administration for the project. <br />Refer to the memo from Bolton & Menk in Attachment A for full details of the project <br />background, design options and cost estimate that were developed since the PSA agreement was <br />approved on June 28, 2021. <br />After discussion with Council from this Work Session, there will be a Design Public <br />Informational meeting held at City Hall if possible. The exact date has not been determined yet <br />but a mailing notice will be sent to residents within the project corridor at least a week prior to <br />the meeting. <br />Page 1 of 2
