Karth Lake Runoff Control
Change Order and Unit Price Modifications Summary

Change Order No. 1 – Additional Existing Manhole
Cost: $5506.20
Summary: Before construction began, a previously buried manhole was discovered after a rain event.
Due to this manhole, the storm sewer design was modified. The cost for the work was determined via
unit prices summarized in the table below.
Item Unit Qty Unit Price Cost
Salvage 18" CPP LF 33 $ 33.15 $ 1,093.95
48" Storm Manhole EA 1 $ 2,725.00 $ 2,725.00
Install Salvaged 18" CPP LF 33 $ 38.25 $ 1,262.25
Remove Catch Basin EA 1 $ 425.00 $ 425.00
Total $ 5,506.20

Change Order No. 2 – Built in Frame Casting
Cost: $505.00
Summary: A metal frame was constructed for the inlet structure located at the top of the hill to allow
the high flow castings to sit securely in the manhole, while still allowing the removal of the castings if
the interior of the structure ever needed to be accessed. Cost was determined via material cost.

Change Order No. 3 - Changes to Unit Price Items
Cost: $2,830.25
Remove Bituminous Pavement – Additional 27 SY – limits of the removal at the top of the hill extended
to allow improved forming of new concrete and promote drainage.
Aggregate Base – Additional 30 CY – with expanded paving limits, additional aggregate base required.
36”x22” Arch RC Storm Pipe – Additional 6 LF – an unexpected fiber line encountered during
construction conflicted with planned manhole location. Manhole shifted, requiring additional pipe.
Random Rip Rap Class III – Additional 12 CY – additional riprap placed at top of hill to protect hillside
from erosion in 5-year storm event.
Erosion Control Blanket – Additional 25 SY – additional erosion control blanket placed to ensure proper
establishment of new seeding.
