5.0 New Business <br /> <br />We asked Todd to work with the City to set up a KLID page on the city website. <br /> <br />5.1. Long Term Strategic Plan: Projects and Funding – The Board agreed on the <br />following plan and actions: <br /> <br />5.1.1 Maintenance of existing pumping system <br /> <br />Tabled to next meeting. <br /> <br />5.1.2 Remediation of BMP #1Site <br /> <br />Todd reported that since our last KLID meeting, the City submitted two grant applications to the Rice <br />Creek Watershed District. One application requests funding to address the retaining wall near the <br />pump force main. The second grant application is to address the erosion issue we reviewed along the <br />steep slope between the end of the service road and the trail. Both grant applications require a 50 <br />percent local match. The City Council supported the applications. <br /> <br />5.1.3 Erosion Control at Pumping Site – See 5.1.2 <br /> <br />5.1.4 Add Grit Chambers to storm drains that empty into Karth Lake and do not have Grit <br />Chambers now. <br /> <br />Table to next meeting: <br />Identify which ones; when will it be done? Source of funds? <br /> <br />5.1.5 Add rain garden(s) on Karth Lake Drive when road is rebuilt as recommended in <br />SW Urban Lakes Study. <br /> <br />5.1.6 Remove Silt from lake when grit chambers are installed at each storm drain that <br />empties into Karth Lake. <br /> <br />Increase lake capacity, dilute nutrients, remove nutrients, remove any toxic substances <br />found. <br /> <br />5.2 Near-term/annual strategic plan. The Board agreed on the following plan and actions: <br /> <br />5.2.1 Continue to monitor water quality annually through CAMP (Citizen Assisted <br />Monitoring Program). <br /> <br />5.2.2 Continue to remove excess weed and debris from lake annually to the degree that <br />residents support it through donations. <br /> <br />5.2.3 Maintain “Adopt a Drain” program: maintain storm drain stencils; recruit more <br />residents to “Adopt a Drain.” <br />
