Utilizing Trip Generation based on building square footage results in
a larger number of estimated trips. Table 2 summarizes the trip generation based on square footage.
Table 2
Trip Generation – Proposed Church
Based on Square Footage
Land Use ITE Code Sunday Peak Trips Weekday Church Peak Trips
Enter Exit Enter Exit
Church (40,063 SF) 560 200 Trips 200 Trips 55 Trips 55 Trips
TOTAL Trips 400 Trips 110 Trips
As shown in Table 2, the trip generation potential for the church based on square footage of the building
is estimated to be 400 trips, 200 trips entering and 200 trips exiting trips during the Sunday 11:00 AM –
Noon service time, and 400 trips, 200 entering and 200 exiting during the 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM service
time. During the Wednesday evening class times 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM the Church based on square
footage could generate 110 Trips 55 entering and 55 exiting. These numbers suggest the church could
grow to approximately 1,500 members. That said, based on the times of the activity associated with the
church, during off-peak hours, the impacts of this development are still minimal.

In conclusion, the development will generate new traffic on Sundays, and on Wednesdays after the PM
traffic peak hour. However, the roadway system providing access to this area has sufficient capacity to
handle the off-peak increase in traffic and the development will have a minimal impact on the
surrounding roadway system.

Please contact Vernon Swing at vswingtraffic@gmail.com or 612-968-4142 with any questions.
