Following that discussion, Council
directed Staff to bring forward a formal approval to allow the City Administrator to remove the
language from the Personnel Policy and work with HCSP on any needed clean up to terminate
the contributions to the plan. The Personnel Policy language will be changed to reflect that any
accrued comp time, flex time or PTO shall be paid to the employee upon separation not to
exceed any applicable accrual caps. Note, the Union Contract still calls for these contributions
until the end of the year. Depending on HCSP’s preference, the changes in the Personnel Policy
may not become effective until the end of the year to coincide with the Union’s contract.

Budget Impact No significant budget impacts are expected as a result of these changes.

Attachments N/A

CONSENT ITEM – 3D

MEMORANDUM
