[DRAFT] Intersection Control Evaluation SRF Consulting Group, Inc.
County Road E at Snelling Ave N (CR 76) 9 November 30, 2021
Table 8 provides a summary of the Opening Year 2023 operational analysis. Results of the operational
analysis indicate that all alternatives are expected to perform at an overall LOS B or better during the
a.m. and p.m. peak hours under Opening Year 2023 traffic volumes and proposed lane configurations.
The Opening Year 2023 detailed operational analysis results are shown in the Appendix.
Table 7. Results of the operational
analysis indicate that all-way stop alternative is expected to approach an overall LOS D, with its worst
approach operating at a LOS F p.m. peak hour under Forecast Year 2043 traffic volumes and existing
lane configurations. The traffic signal and roundabout control alternatives are still expected to operate
at a LOS B or better during the a.m. and p.m. peak hours. The Build Year 2043 detailed operational
analysis results are shown in the Appendix.
Table 8. The roundabout
and traffic signal can accommodate changes in volumes and a platoon traffic better than an all-way
stop. Roundabouts also typically have lower delay in the off-peaks compared to a traffic signal due to
the clearance intervals associated with a traffic signal.
