Utilities operated and maintained by the City of Arden Hills include sanitary sewer services, stormwater
services, and water main services.
o To sign up for city sewer and water service, or to update an existing account, please fill out a sewer
and water account form.
o For after-hours sewer and water concerns, call the Ramsey County Sheriff at 651-767-0640.
OTHER UTILITY COMPANIES SERVING ARDEN HILLS

* In addition to public utilities, there are many other private utility companies that provide services to
homes and businesses throughout Arden Hills including electricity, natural gas, and communications.
Garbage Haulers
Residents choose their residential garbage service provider from a list of city-licensed waste haulers. To
compare options, view a list of licensed waste haulers and their residential rates.

Recycling
Your residential curbside recycling provider is Republic Services. Recycling is a city-wide service. There is
no need to sign up—just wheel your recycling cart to the curb on the proper day and Republic Services
will do the rest. All of your recycling can go in one cart. It is a single-stream collection. Recycling should
not be bagged. Simply dump your recyclables into the cart.
City Ordinances
PET LICENSES
Pets are required to be licensed. An annual license fee paid to the city allows the city to know which
homes have dogs, cats and other pets. This helps if your pet gets lost.
BUILDING PERMITS
Most home building and remodeling projects require a permit through the city before starting
construction; however some are exempt. Review Which Homebuilding and Remodeling Projects Require
a Permit? (PDF)
Schools
Families in Arden Hills are served by two award-winning school districts (Mounds View and Roseville).
The city is home to two private universities, Bethel University, and University of Northwestern St. Paul.

Transportation
METRO MOBILITY
Metro Mobility is a door-to-door public transportation system for people with disabilities in the
Minneapolis-St. Paul area and many adjoining suburbs.
