CONSENT ITEM – 6B
MEMORANDUM
DATE:
TO:
FROM:
March 14, 2022
Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
Dave Perrault, City Administrator
Julie Hanson, City Clerk
SUBJECT: Designation of 2022 Polling Places following Redistricting Process
Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source:
$ $ $
Council Should Consider
Motions to approve, table, or deny the following:
•Resolution 2022-009 Designating 2022 Polling Places for the State Primary and State
General Election.
All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted.
Background/Discussion
Redistricting is now complete and Arden Hills, while remaining in Congressional District 4, has
changed from Senate District 42 to District 40 and from House District 42A to District 40A.
While the District numbers have changed respectively, the entire city remains intact in one
legislative boundary.
The redistricting process provides the City the opportunity to explore new locations or modify its
precinct boundaries even if no changes occurred that affected legislative boundaries. The City
Council can elect to retain its current precinct boundaries and polling place locations should it
determine that the locations work well and continue to meet the needs of the voting public.
Current polling place locations are as follows:
•Precinct 1: Presbyterian Church of the Way @ 3382 Lexington Avenue N, 55126
•Precinct 2: Anderson Center (Bethel University Satellite Campus) @ 2 Pine Tree Dr, 55112
•Precinct 3: North Heights Lutheran Church @ 1700 W Highway 96, 55112
