Public Works Director / City Engineer

SUBJECT: County Road E and Old Snelling Ave Intersection Improvements

Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source:
$ $

Council Should Consider Council should consider discussing the results of the open-house and public survey for the
intersection of County Rd E and Old Snelling Ave and provide direction for design alternatives.
A formal approval of a design alternative would be brought forward at a later Regular Meeting in
the form of a Cooperative and Maintenance Agreement with Ramsey County.

Background/ Discussion Attachment A is the summary of the Public Engagement Survey for the County Rd E and Old
Snelling Ave intersection provided by the County’s engineering consultant SRF.

Council recently reviewed the latest Intersection Control Evaluation Report that analyzed 3
different design alternatives and determines a recommendation for a long-term preferred
improvement. The report concludes that a roundabout is the optimum form of traffic control at
this location.

Improvements to this intersection are scheduled for 2023, in order to keep this project moving
along per schedule, it is important to have clear direction from City Council on the design.

Attachments Attachment A – Public Engagement Survey
Attachment B – Presentation Slides
