The City of Arden Hills <br />Joins Twin Cities Gateway <br />Visitors Bureau <br />Twin Cities Gateway is a regional <br />convention and visitors bureau. <br />Arden Hills has joined the Twin <br />Cities Gateway’s nine other <br />member cities: Anoka, Blaine, <br />Coon Rapids, Fridley, Ham Lake, <br />Lino Lakes, Mounds View, New <br />Brighton, and Shoreview. The <br />mission of Twin Cities Gateway <br />is to promote the area to generate <br />increased tourism-related economic <br />impact for its member cities. The <br />nonprofit organization is funded <br />by the local option lodging tax <br />collected by 25 lodging properties <br />throughout its ten member cities. In <br />adding the City of Arden Hills as <br />a member city, the visitors bureau <br />will be collecting lodging tax <br />revenue from the city’s two hotels, <br />Springhill Suites Arden Hills, and <br />Quality Inn & Suites Arden Hills. <br />For more information about the <br />organization, visit tcgateway.com. <br /> <br />Chick-fil-A Grand Opening <br />On the morning of February <br />10th, a ribbon-cutting ceremony <br />marked the grand opening of <br />Arden Hills' new Chick-fil-A <br />restaurant. City councilmembers <br />and staff, friends and family of <br />the owner, representatives from <br />the Twin Cities North Chamber of <br />Commerce, and others joined the <br />celebration. The new franchise is <br />located at 3855 Lexington Ave N at <br />the location of the former Perkins. <br />Benchmarks City News Continued <br />February 14, 2022 <br />City Council Meeting <br />All items were approved <br />unanimously by a 5–0 vote. <br />• Appointed Marie Hinton as <br />Chair of the Parks, Trails and <br />Recreation Committee (PTRC) <br />with the term as Chair expiring <br />December 31, 2022. <br />• Appointed Amy LaMere to the <br />position of Customer Service <br />Representative, a job-share <br />position, filling an opening due <br />to retirement. <br />• Approved Ordinance <br />2022-001 eliminating two <br />resident committees: The <br />Communications Committee <br />has been functioning for <br />several years with assigned <br />Councilmembers and Staff. <br />The Financial Planning and <br />Analyses Committee’s focus <br />has been project-based, and <br />instead of continuing to exist as <br />a formal committee, it has been <br />changed to a working group <br />and called when needed. <br />• Passed a Resolution to identify <br />the City as the lead agency <br />for the Mounds View High <br />School Trail Improvements <br />project as required for a <br />federal Safe Routes to School <br />grant application. An Open <br />House will be held to facilitate <br />resident feedback about the <br />potential changes, with details <br />forthcoming. Currently, among <br />the requirements provided in <br />the ordinance are the following: <br />• Residential properties may <br />host food trucks for private, <br />catered events (not events <br />open for sales to the general <br />public) <br />• Food trucks cannot be parked <br />on the street; they must be <br />parked on private property <br />• All food trucks must have <br />a license with the City of <br />Arden Hills <br />Keep an eye out for more <br />information about the open <br />house on the City website.
