Agenda Item 4-D <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE:April 19, 2022 <br />TO:Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee <br />FROM:Marie Hinton, PTRC Chair <br />SUBJECT: Scoops for Troops <br />Background <br />The annual Scoops for Troops event is returning to our area the last Sunday in May at the <br />National Guard Readiness Center on Hamline Ave. It is a benefit to recognize and honor our area <br />Gold Star families. All funds raised go to Tribute to the Troops Fallen Heroes Children’s <br />Education Fun. <br />This is not a City of Arden hills event, but it is a fantastic event and great opportunity to see <br />portions of the Arden Hills Army Training Site (AHATS) not normally available to the public. <br />There is a 5k run and 3k walk on trails around Sunfish Lake. Also, if you register by May 10, <br />you are guaranteed a t-shirt. <br />It would be great for PTRC members to attend this event. If you aren’t up for a walk or run, you <br />can still take part in the ice cream social.
