Agenda Item 4-E <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE:April 19, 2022 <br />TO:Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee <br />FROM:Marie Hinton, PTRC Chair <br />SUBJECT: Point Person/Champion <br />Background <br />A few outside organizations have contacted city staff, inquiring about volunteer opportunities. <br />They are willing to do volunteer work monthly in the parks. These groups would like to set up <br />volunteer events for this spring and summer. We would like to them up on their offer starting in <br />May so that PTRC has a chance to discuss and then roll this out smoothly. <br />We would like to connect these groups with a member(s) of the PTRC to make sure that items <br />important to the PTRC are prioritized and orchestrated correctly. <br />In the PTRC Work Plan and previous meetings, we have discussed assigning specific <br />parks/trails/areas to specific members as point persons or champions of that park/trail/area. The <br />point person would be responsible to monitor and report on developments in the park/trail/area <br />they have adopted. <br />Action Needed <br />Please consider volunteering to be the point person for volunteer projects, parks, trails, <br />recreation, events, and/or outreach <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A – Arden Hills Park Inventory
