Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Public Works 2022 Capital Equipment Replacement <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $42,000 <br /> (2022 CIP) <br /> $41,418.50 <br /> (After estimated auction) <br />Equipment Replacement Fund <br /> <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Purchase of the Kromer Field Commander in the amount of $33,665.00 <br />• Purchase of the TowMaster Trailer T-12D in the amount of $12,253.50 <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The 2022 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes two equipment items for replacement, <br />consisting of a Toro Workman and a trailer. (Attachment A) <br />Staff recommends replacement of Unit 411 with a Kromer Pro Field Maintainer Tractor. The <br />proposed Kromer is able to drag ball fields, as well as paint lines on soccer fields and ball fields. <br />Attachment B is specifications and a quote for $33,665 a new Kromer Field Maintainer Tractor. <br />The vendor came to Public Works for a demo and we were able to see the machine in action. The <br />Kromer is a multi-use ball field drag and striping unit that will add to the efficiency of our <br />operations. The total estimated cost for the equipment, after auction, is $32,665 (estimating <br />$1,000 in proceeds on sale of old machine). The CIP includes a budget of $30,000 for this <br />equipment in 2022. <br />
