Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Spring Lake Park Lions Club Donation <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $N/A $ 13,307.48 Spring Lake Park Lions Club, <br /> Parks Fund <br /> Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Purchase of shelter/shade structures for the Perry Dog Park in the amount of $13,307.48 <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> Background/Discussion <br />The Spring Lake Park Lions Club contacted City Staff in January about donating funds to be used <br />for Parks and Recreation. On March 14, 2022, through Resolution 2022-010, the City Council <br />accepted the donation in the amount of $10,000. The Spring Lake Park Lions Club aims to help <br />those in need within the community through various fundraising activities. They are active in the <br />Arden Hills’ community and wanted to see these funds used to help the Parks and Recreation <br />department. On June 20, 2022, this item was brought to Council at the Work Session for discussion <br />of how to use the donation. Council directed staff to move forward with purchases the two shade <br />structures shown in Attachment A. <br /> <br />The supplier has indicated the production lead time is 15-17 weeks. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br />The quote for purchasing the two shade structures can be reviewed in Attachment B. The total <br />amount with shipping costs is $13,307.48. This total does not include the plaques or the concrete <br />material needed to pour the footings. Public Works will perform the installation. Any costs over the <br />$10,000 donated will be funded by the Parks Fund. <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Shade structures <br />Attachment B: Quote
