MINUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS PARRS & RECREATION COMMITTEE, 9-24-91 Page TWO to Adjustments were made in the contract bid to complete the trails at: Valentine Hills School to Chatham Avenue cul- de-sac. Trail from Hamline Avenue to Floral Park. Trail from Lexington Avenue to Cummings Park. Trail from Wyncrest cul-de-sac to play structure and picnic shelter at Cummings. Basketball court overlays were completed at Floral, Freeway, and Sampson Parks. Color coating was completed at Cummings tennis and basketball courts, Floral tennis court. Hockey lights were repaired at Hazelnut Park. 5 YEAR PARR IMPROVEMENT PROPOSAL The revised 5 Year Park Improvement Proposal was reviewed by the Committee. LONG RANGE PARR FUND Buckley reviewed the proposed financial plan for managing the Park Fund and financing park • improvements into the 20th Century. Buckley recommended that Financial Plan #9 be used for managing the Park Fund. GATEWAY FLOWER VOLUNTEERS The Mayor and Council will give special recognition to over 50 volunteers that planted and helped maintain the flower gardens over the summer months at their September 30 meeting. ARSENAL ATHLETIC FIELD SITE Environmental Protection Agency has recently issued a report stating there is no known environmental safety problem at the site of the proposed athletic fields. Ramsey County and City of Arden Hills has asked Congressman Vento to contact the Army regarding their new report. NEW BUSINESS One of the proposed 1992 trail improvements is paving the trail from Cummings Park to Floral Park. Some of the residents adjacent to this trail are strongly opposed to any improvements. The Committee scheduled to walk this section of the trail on Sunday, October 6 . Committee members are asked to meet at 4 : 30 p.m. at City Hall. • INFORMATION The Committee would like to schedule a meeting with the residents at the November of January Park Committee meeting.
