ARDEN HILLS PARRS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> JUNE 25, 1991 MINUTES <br /> • CITY HALL <br /> CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Park & <br /> Rec. Commission was called to order at 7 : 35 PM by <br /> Chair David Sand. Members present: Chair David <br /> Sand, Mark Magers, Don Messerly, David Moberg, <br /> Alan Montgomery and Megan Ricke. Absent: Mary <br /> Gillies, Carol Johnson, Mark Labine, Keith <br /> Enrooth & Pattie Green Also present: Cynthia <br /> Severtson and John Buckley <br /> APPROVE MIN. Minutes of the May 28, 1991 minutes were approved <br /> as mailed. <br /> There was no Council report. <br /> PROGRAM RPT On June 29 , Cindy hosted a District Hershey Track <br /> Meet at Mounds View High. The <br /> meet was designed <br /> to promote physical fitness in youth ages 9-14 , <br /> and to introduce them to track and field events. <br /> All first and second place winners had the <br /> opportunity to advance to the State competition. <br /> • This meet was a huge success and was one of the <br /> largest in the state. <br /> Cindy has been invited to chaperon the five girls <br /> from Minnesota that advanced to the National <br /> Hershey Track Meet, which takes place Aug. 15-18 <br /> in Hershey, PA. This is an all expense paid <br /> trip. <br /> We also held our Penny Carnival on July 19 . (See <br /> attached photo from July 24 Bulletin. <br /> TRAILS Midwest Asphalt constructed 903 linear feet of <br /> asphalt trails for $64, 266. 75. Trails <br /> constructed were: <br /> Cummings, $21, 500. 50, around perimeter of park, <br /> from Lexington Avenue to ballfields, and trail <br /> cul-de-sacs to picnic shelter. <br /> Floral, $22 , 053 , around perimeter of ballfield <br /> and play structure area, from Hamline to <br /> ballfields, complete trail from Norma Ave. , to <br /> athletic field. <br /> Hazelnut, $17, 045. 75, around perimeter of park <br />
