May 28 , 1991 Park Minutes, Page Two <br /> . MAY 4 ARBOR <br /> DAY Six Scout groups and neighborhood groups <br /> participated in Arbor Day activities . Over 75 <br /> persons planted trees and seedlings in Floral , <br /> Cummings, Perry Park, LindeyIs Triangle, and the <br /> Chatham Open Space. <br /> MAY 18 FLOWER <br /> JUBILEE An enthusiastic group of boy scouts , girl scouts <br /> and adult volunteers enjoyed the free pancake <br /> breakfast at Howard Johnson ' s on Saturday, May 18 . <br /> After breakfast, the planters proceeded to plant <br /> flowers along County Road E at Howard Johnsons , <br /> Arden/Shoreview Animal Hospital, Hoigaards, Norwest <br /> Bank, MSI , and the Arden Hills Amoco . Flowers were <br /> also planted in the Gateway beds at Lexington/96 ; <br /> Lexington/Co. Rd. E; Hamline/Co. Rd. F; Lindey ' s ; <br /> Co. Rd. E2/Old 10; Co. Rd . D/Johanna Blvd. ; and <br /> Cleveland/G1enPaul. Over 3 , 500 flowers were <br /> planted that day. <br /> MISCELLANEOUS No miscellaneous new business was reported. <br /> PROGRAM RPT . SEVERTSON: <br /> The letter I received from Dorothy Gockowski is a nice example of <br /> adaptive recreation kids participating in our regular programs . <br /> Her son has Down ' s Syndrome and enjoyed the 3rd & 4th grade <br /> softball last summer and will participate again this summer. <br /> The track program this spring attracted a record number of 259 kids <br /> in Arden Hills . A total of 780 in the Mounds View School district . <br /> Unfortunately, the rainy spring caused us to cancel the district <br /> meet. <br /> The registration for summer programs has been favorable. The <br /> majority of the programs begin the week of June 17 . <br /> T-ball and softball for youth is a growing program. The number of <br /> teams for each is as follows : <br /> Kindergarten t-ball (6) <br /> 1st & 2nd grade t-ball (6) <br /> 3rd & 4th grade softball (6) <br /> 5th & 6th grade softball (3 ) <br /> 7th & 8th grade softball (2) <br /> ADJOURN 9 : 05 PM. <br />
