CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MINUTES, FEBRUARY 26, 1991 <br /> Call to Order <br /> • The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Park and Recreation <br /> Commission was called to order at 7 : 35 P.M. by Chairman David <br /> Sand. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: Chairman David Sand, David Moberg, Mark Labine, Mark <br /> Magers, and Megan Ricke., <br /> Absent f <br /> Keith Enrooth, Don Messerly, Carol Johnson, M2ryGillies, Pattie <br /> Green, and Alan Mongtomery.(1 <br /> Also Present <br /> Mayor Tom Sather, Councilmember Nancy Hansen and Parks Director <br /> John Buckley. <br /> MINUTE APPROVAL Minutes of the January 22 meeting were <br /> approved as mailed. <br /> Ingerson Park Ingerson Park residents present included <br /> Improvements Harold Alexander, Marie Canfield,_ Mary Flor, <br /> Janet Folsom, Mary Lou Keran, Keith Wilson and <br /> Jocey Wilson. - — <br /> Chair Sand stated that discussion of the 1991 Ingerson proposed <br /> • improvements will take place and warmly welcomed the residents. <br /> Proposed improvements include: <br /> Picnic shelter - $4 , 000 <br /> Single Tennis Court - $15, 000 <br /> Discuss west park access <br /> Sand stated that money for these improvements will come from the <br /> Park Fund. Revenue for this fund comes from park dedications and <br /> charitable gambling contributions. The Park Fund presently has a <br /> balance of $516, 430 . 75 . <br /> Sand asked Park Director Buckley to review the improvements with <br /> the residents. Buckley briefly reviewed some of the history and <br /> goals of the park system; <br /> - park philosophy and goals were to secure and develop a park <br /> in each of the neighborhoods in the City. <br /> - Parks would be developed to provide "active" play areas <br /> (ballfields, play equipment, tennis and basketball courts and <br /> skating) . Natural passive areas would also be preserved in <br /> each of the park areas. <br /> - Buckley displayed the Ingerson Park master plan and explained <br /> . where the shelter and tennis court would be constructed in <br /> the park. After the presentation, Buckley asked for citizen <br /> response. <br />
