CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MINUTES, JUNE 26, 1990 <br /> Call to Order <br /> The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Park and Recreation <br /> Commission was called to order at 7 : 40 P.M. by Chair David Sand. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: David Sand, Pate roo,,, Mark Maqers, Don Messerly, <br /> Dorothy McClung, and Alan Montgomery. <br /> Absent / <br /> Keith Enrooth and Tom Mulcahy, <br /> Also Present <br /> Guests: Carol Johnson, Jerry Gelao and Tony Vanelli, as well as <br /> Council Tom Mahowald, Program Supervisor Cindy Severtson and <br /> Parks Director John Buckley. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Minutes of the April 24 meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> Council Report Councilmember Mahowald reported: <br /> - Flower beds are wonderful addition for community. <br /> - Royal Oaks neighborhood is interested in installing <br /> decorative street lighting to help illuminate the neighbor- <br /> hood. <br /> - City Hall Committee will be touring the city hall facilities <br /> of New Brighton, Shoreview, White Bear Lake and Circle Pines. <br /> - Council will be hiring a consultant to conduct a citizens <br /> survey to cover residents reaction to the following survey <br /> topics: <br /> city services, street improvements, snowplowing, etc. , park <br /> maintenance, program expectations, community center, new city <br /> hall. <br /> - Community Development Committe is being appointed to study <br /> Round Lake development and Lexington Avenue redevelopment. <br /> - The Arden Hills/Shoreview Rotary Club purchased and planted <br /> 12 flowering crab trees at Lindey's Triangle Park site on <br /> Saturday, June 2 . <br /> GATEWAY GARDENS The Gateway Gardens have been planted. Scouts <br /> planted the flower beds at all the gateway <br /> sites. County Road E sites were planted by businesses between <br /> May 19 and Memorial Day. <br /> • EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT Three Arden Hills teens are coordinating <br /> Eagle Scout Community Service Projects with <br /> the Parks Dept. this Summer. They are Aaron Boeckermann, Gateway <br /> Flower Gardens; Scott Fergerson, Trail development/improvement; <br />
