i <br /> ol �,,�� i �—*�*it �' I �j- I • I �'' qr ,��it ,� <br /> WHO ARE THE MEMBERS AND LEADERS OF USAA, AND HOW CAN I GET <br /> INVOLVED? <br /> USAA is an organization of Jr. High, High School and College Athletes that <br /> Have banned together to promote positive life choices with the common <br /> interest of athletics. <br /> A: Who are the Members?: There are two types of membership. The student <br /> athlete in Jr. High, High School or College and the support individuals i.e. <br /> Athletic Directors, Coaches, Parents, School Administration, Sports Teams, <br /> Sports Suppliers, Educational Institutions, and any person, group, or company <br /> that have the common goal of promoting excellence in Sports through positive <br /> life choices. <br /> B: Who are the National Leaders?: The Board of Directors and National <br /> Leaders include players and administration from Professional and Amateur • <br /> Athletic Organizations in many different sports; Medical and Mental Health <br /> Associations; Educational Associations; and leaders in Business. <br /> C: What are the necessary steps for my school(s) to start a chapter?: <br /> 1. Get 10 athletes and 1 administrator to fill out an application and <br /> Potential Sponsor Form, and return it to the National Office. <br /> 2. Ortce that is done, the National Office will work with the local <br /> administrator to coordinate a USAA day. This will be a full day of activities <br /> including speakers on the following topics: A) A Professional Athlete <br /> explaining how they got involved, what they have done, and how they handle <br /> professional sports. B) Tips on Training and physical conditioning. C) Drug and <br /> Chemical Abuse films and seminars D) Tips for choosing a college. E) Tips for <br /> choosing a pro career. F) USAA programs, the National Conference, and <br /> Leadership Potential program within the USAA. <br /> D: What if I want to become a State or District Leader?: Forms will become <br /> available to you as you become a member. <br /> LET US KEEP YOU INFORMED ABOUT USAA.
